However, a new startup is threatening the stability of Pear dominance. This new startup, Octagon™ which you are told is backed by governments around the world, has developed a revolutionary tool to enhance their washing machines to a level far above any other washing machine: Hedron Awareness™. With Hedron Awareness, Octagon washing machines reach near-sentience and are the most efficient, performant, and intuitive machines ever made. Originally dismissed by Pear as a wannabe company, Octagon was able to function under the radar and has already replaced a fifth of worldwide washing machines as of this date, with ever more machines being switched to Octagon machines. This, predictably, drew the attention of Pear. After some thorough research and intelligence gathering, Pear was able to find where the secret to Hedron Awareness is located: a highly protected military complex run by Hedron Awareness itself. If Pear can obtain the secret to Hedron’s Awareness, it will be able to incorporate its own version, Pear Intelligence™, which would give Pear the ability to resist Octagon’s rise to power.

The complex is structured as an octagon, with the secret to Hedron Awareness at its center. To get to it, a person must get through multiple rooms, all of which are monitored by a highly advanced version of Hedron Awareness. What makes the complex unique is the fact that there are no humans on the complex. Each room is monitored by cameras and the walls are heavily armed. If any intruder is detected, Hedron Awareness will not hesitate to instantly terminate the intruder. As a result of this heavy armament, Hedron sacrificed sensors– the only way of knowing what happens in each room are Hedron’s cameras. This provides a remarkable attack vector: disable the cameras, and Hedron becomes blind.

You are an elite marksman that has been hired by Pear Incorporated to obtain the secrets to Hedron Awareness. Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to make your way through every room in Octagon’s complex to the inner sanctum, where Hedron Awareness houses its secrets. 

The only method you have at doing this is to disable every camera in every room without making yourself known. To do so, Pear has provided you with knowledge of six types of bullets. Furthermore, Pear is able to facilitate the instantiation of ammo refills located throughout the complex to supply you on your mission.
